SUMMARY:End of World War II Pancake Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:Seventy-seven years ago the greatest conflict in the history of the world came to an end and the sailors of USS Red Oak Victory knew they would be coming home. \nWe’ll be celebrating that important event on August 14 with another of our famous Pancake Breafasts. Fresh pancakes\, sausage\, bacon\, scrambled eggs will be prepared in the ship’s galley and served to you through the same window that those excited sailors were served when they got the news that the war was over. But you can get one thing that they couldn’t! Mimosas will be available for a small extra charge for our adult patrons. \nOur musical entertainment this time will be the World War II-era sounds of the Lovin’ Harmony Trio. This group has played on the Red Oak Victory several times and are always one of our most popular entertainment attractions. \nYour breakfast and donation to the ship is only $15 for adults and $5 for children 8 and under. Breakfast service begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:30 PM. A limited number of specially priced tickets will also be available for guests wishing to take a docent-led tour of the ship. But you’d better buy those right away! The tour tickets have sold out in the first ten days for our last three Pancake Breakfasts. \nRed Oak Victory is located in the perfect spot for all around views of the entire San Francisco Bay Area. So you’ll want to arrive early to reserve your seat with the best view! \nOur radio room will be in operation so you can send a radiogram to anyone in the world via our original\, Morse code-only ship’s radio. Just fill out the radiogram form including the recipient’s email or phone number and we’ll take care of the rest at no charge! \nSince last fall\, our Pancake Breakfasts have sold out before the event. We therefore strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets early because once they’re gone\, they’re gone!

SUMMARY:Richmond Police Department NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
DESCRIPTION:National Night Out is upon us once again. National Night Out is a time to recognize the spirit of community volunteerism and community public safety partnerships. It is a great time to honor volunteers\, meet and greet with neighbors and local civic leaders. The City of Richmond has celebrated NNO for over three decades. \na few changes and departures from the past. \nTIME: We encourage parties to be planned between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm\nKick off at 5:00 pm hosted by the Coronado Neighborhood Council\nEnd Party: TBA \nCHANGES\n• We know that everyone loves the caravan. Unfortunately\, our staffing levels are have been seriously impacted. This year\, due limitations there will not be a caravan.\n• The Coronado Neighborhood will host our kick off this year.\n• We will have smaller group of district beat officers visit neighborhood parties that register online\, along with fire and other city agencies.\n• There will also a contingency of community volunteers from the Crime Prevention Executive Board who will visit the first fifteen registered sites. Though anyone can host a party\, we encourage those who would like a visit from the Crime Prevention Executive Board to sign up early. We will let you know once registration closes who the first 15 are.\n• Lookout for a special announcement about the kick off and end party.\n• COVID-19 is still with us. We are asking that everyone who attends the kick off and end party to wear a mask out of respect for the elderly and immune compromised who may like to once again participate. We strongly encourage events to be hosted outdoors. We also encourage mask wearing especially if your event will be indoors\, and opening the doors and windows. Use good hygiene practices around food by making sure that hand sanitizer is available for shared meals. \nWHAT STAYS THE SAME \n• You! Neighborhood parties can continue as normal following the county reopening guidelines\n• We will have officers that will visit the local events. (Given time constraints\, priority will be given to those who register early.)\n• Please plan to host your parties between 6 – 8:30 pm if you’d like a visit. \nTIPS\n• Given that resources are more limited this year\, check with your neighborhood council\, or nearest neighborhood watch to see if they are planning an event to combine efforts when possible.\n• Dress in layers\n• Try to have some interesting activities that people can do during the event time.\n• The City will share the list of events with local civic leaders\, but feel free to engage and invite community resources to table at your event\n• Be safe. Have plenty of hand sanitizer out\, and consider having your event outdoors to make everyone feel more comfortable.\n• This is a great time to share resources with the community.\n• Consider honoring some of the volunteers that helped keep things going through COVID-19. \nFREQUENLY ASKED QUESTIONS: \nTHIS IS MY FIRST NATIONAL NIGHT OUT. IS THERE ONE EVENT\, OR MANY EVENTS?\nNational Night out in Richmond has always had a kick off organized by the City\, and neighborhood block parties. \nHOW DO I GET A BOOTH?\nA: You can set up at the kick off through contacting Michelle Milam\, Crime Prevention Manager and host Maxine Fisher. If you want to set up at a specific neighborhood\, you would need to be in touch with the coordinator of that neighborhood event. You may also contact Michelle Milam for leads. mmilam@richmondpd.net \nWHAT IF I NEED A STREET CLOSURE?\nThe online form will ask you for street closures. \nWHAT IF I WANT TO USE A PARK?\nIf you want to use a park\, please let Crime Prevention know when you register. A list of the locations will be provided to Community Services. mmilam@richmondpd.net \nWHEN CAN I GET THE LIST?\nThe locations will be shared 4-5 days prior to the event. To know if an NNO is happening in your area\, email mmilam@richmondpd.net to be added to the info list. \nONLINE REGISTRATION\nDEADLINE: Friday\, July 22nd 5:00 pm\nFIRST 15 APPLICANTS WILL BE VISITED BY THE CRIME PREVENTION EXECUTIVE BOARD \nNational Night Out Registration 2022\nhttps://ww04.elbowspace.com/secure/20160329114042083160 \nMOBILE FRIENDLY REGISTRATION LINK\nhttps://ww04.elbowspace.com/secure/m20160329114042083160
